Frances S. Corbett

Frances Stone Corbett, 90, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at NHC Healthcare, Johnson City. A native of Welch, W. Va., she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Annie Gentry Stone.

Frances graduated from Science Hill High School in 1939. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elizabethton.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: William Leaston Corbett; three brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Corbett is survived by her sons: Lea Corbett and wife Karen, Tom Corbett and wife Rose Mary; grandchildren: Taylor Corbett and wife Aimee, Crystal Newton and husband Stephen “Fig” Newton Jr., Erica Swedin; great-grandchildren: Barrett Swedin, and Brooke Swedin; sister: Bonnie Abbott; brother: Clyde “Rusty” Stone; several nieces and nephews.

A Committal and Inurnment service for Mrs. Corbett will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 29, 2012 in Mountain Home National Cemetery with Reverend David Ensminger officiating. Everyone is asked to meet the family at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m. on Monday.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the caregivers at NHC, Pine Oaks, and Caris hospice for the loving care they provided to Frances.
