Fay Hodge, 76, of Roan Mountain, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at her residence, following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Tom and Legusta Shell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hodge; four sisters, Arlene Smith, Gladys Miller, Clestine Franklin and Christine Shell; and four brothers, Carl Shell, Thomas Shell Jr., Vernon Shell and twin brother, Ray Shell.
Ms. Hodge was a homemaker and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.
Survivors include a sister, Esther Lee Bennett, and a brother, T.J. Shell, both of Roan Mountain, and special friends, Stanley and Carolyn Greene, Mildred Freeman and Ruby Winters. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The graveside service for Ms. Hodge will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 29, at Markland Cemetery, Buck Mountain. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 p.m. Saturday.
