Edward Eugene “Eddie” Hardin, 70, Cochran, Ga., passed away, Friday, June 21, 2013, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Wesley and Hazel Davidson Hardin. His father was a member of the Hardin Brothers Quartet. Eddie was a 1960 graduate of Unaka High School where he was on the Rangers basketball and football teams. He was a graduate of East Tennessee State University in 1967. He lived in Kingsport for several years where he was employed by Mason-Dixon Truck Lines. He moved to Georgia and was employed by Lumber Transport and retired from there in 2006. He was a member of the West Colonial Hills Baptist Church, Kingsport.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Renee Hardin; by a sister: Pauline “Honey” Berry; and a brother, Walter R. Hardin.
Eddie is lovingly remembered by his wife, Diane, as well as two daughters, Gina Richards and her husband, Scott, and their children, Zachary, 13, and Ansley, 10 from Cincinnati, Ohio, and Brandee Elizabeth McCrary and husband, Lee, as well as their children, Luke, 6, and Richard, 6 months from Johns Creek, Ga. A sister, Junella Hardin, Elizabethton, and four nephews also survive.
Eddie’s wish was for a private family burial, which was held in June. A Service to Celebrate the life of Edward Hardin will be Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 in Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Unaka High School Graduate Class of 1960. |
