Edward Aaron Harris Jr., 53, Johnson City, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Bristol Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was a native of Washington County and a 1977 graduate of Daniel Boone High School. He was a boilermaker and business owner.
Mr. Harris was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, Elizabethton. He was a former president of the Elizabethton National Little League. He loved to hunt, fish, play golf and horseback ride. He was a member of the Back Country Horseman Association of North East Tennessee.
Mr. Harris was a member of the Boilermaker Local #453, Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Aaron Harris Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Regina Schaff Harris; two sons, Edward William “Troop” Harris and Charles Mark “Bucky” Harris, both of the home; a granddaughter, Riley Marie Harris; his mother, Jewell Bowman Harris, Johnson City; a brother, Charles D. Harris, Johnson City; a sister, Sherry Harris, Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Lois Schaff, Elizabethton; a brother-in-law, Mark Schaff and wife Jamie; and a sister-in-law, Stephanie Schaff.
Funeral services for Mr. Harris will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, at Oak Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Hendrich officiating. Music will be provided by Bill Fancher. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 10:50 a.m. Saturday, will be Mark Schaff, Charlie Harris, Troop Harris, Bucky Harris, Chuck Harris and Bill Schaff. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
