Earl C. “Eli” Carriger, 85, of Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013, at his residence.
A native of Bluff City, he was a son of the late Robert and Elizabeth Dunn Carriger.
Mr. Carriger was a graduate of Bluff City High School. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a Certified Welder and was retired from Nuclear Containers.
Mr. Carriger was a member of East Side Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Lucille Carriger, July 14, 2012; three brothers, Paul, Wendell and Charles Carriger, and a sister, Peggy.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Rhonda Lowe Hilton, Elizabethton, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Peggy Carriger and Roy and Roseanne Carriger, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services for Mr. Carriger will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Darrell Bailey officiating. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion and the Tennessee National Guard. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Sunday to go to the cemetery. Condolences to the Carriger family may be e-mailed to email@example.com.
