Dalton was a native of Elizabethton and a son of Robert Moffitt and Katrina Heaton Nye.
Dalton’s favorite things were motorcycles, big trucks and spending time with his Daddy.
Dalton was preceded in death by a brother, Jonathan “Jon Jon” Nye, and his maternal grandfather, David Lynn Heaton.
Survivors include his father, Robert Moffitt, Elizabethton; two sisters, Toni Lee Moffitt and Haven Mathes, both of Elizabethton; his paternal grandparents, Robert L. Moffitt and Sheila Campbell, both of Elizabethton; an uncle, Tony Moffitt, and an aunt, Nikki Moffitt, both of Elizabethton; cousins, Dylan Moffitt, Elex “Boo Boo” Moffitt (his best friend), Katelyn Moffitt and Ben Waters and family; uncle, Elex Campbell and wife and daughter, Christy and Graysea of Virginia Beach, Va.; Uncle Bill Moffitt and family; aunt and uncle, Johnny and Jodie J. Hensley, all of Elizabethton, on his mother’s side; mother, Katrina Nye; a brother, Jamie Nye; a sister, Jocelyn Nye-Hicks; and his maternal grandparents, Teresa McNeil and Marvin Estep, all of Elizabethton. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, in the Lyons Chapel Cemetery, in Carter County, under the direction of Dale Adkins. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday then leave in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tony Moffitt, Elex Campbell, Ben Waters and Johnny Hensley.
