Charles Lee Roller, age 65, of Hampton, passed away at his home Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was born April 19, 1948, in Lafayette, Ind., to John W. Roller and Doris I. French Roller. He was raised and educated in Battle Ground, Ind. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and made it his career in helicopter maintenance. He spent three tours in Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin brother, Clarence Lynn Roller.
Survivors include daughters: Lori Malakowski of Schoolcraft, Mich., and Starla Hunt and husband, Shaun, of Fort Campbell, Ky. Also sister Alice Hill of Lafayette, Ind., and brothers John E., James W. and wife, Patricia, of Battle Ground and Tom and wife, Marjorie, of Lafayette, and his children in Tennessee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with a VA Chaplain officiating. Burial will follow the service. Military honors will be provided. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday.
