Celia Mae Lyons, 84, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Andy and Julia Hartley Lunceford.
Mrs. Lyons was retired from CVS Pharmacy, South Roan Street, Johnson City. She was a member of the Stone Mountain Baptist Church, Butler, but attended Cherry Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edd Frank Lyons, who died April 7, 2011, and by two sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Catherine Lyons and Ted and Kitty Lyons, all of Jonesborough; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lyons will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Clark and the Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, will be Charlie Lyons, Travis Broyles, Tom Lee, Jerry Perkins, Eddie Hunter, Nathan Coggins, Jason Lyons and Trevor Lyons. Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Story, Hazen Arnold, Doyle Walters, Vincent Walters, Gary Walters, Bartley Sparks, Ray Lyons, Shelby Lyons, Sam Lyons, Jerry Lyons and Dennis Potter. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence.
