Buddy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and United Emmaus Community of Johnson City. A wonderful golfer, Buddy went to East Tennessee State University on a golf scholarship and was a Club Champion at Johnson City Country Club for several years. Buddy also enjoyed automobiles, conversation and was a poster child and advocate for amputees.
Buddy is predeceased by his father, Clough Henry Blake Jr.; his mother, Elva Vestal Blake; and a daughter, Keisha Blake Williams. Buddy leaves behind a beloved wife, Brenda K. Blake, of Johnson City; a sister, Missy Polack, and her husband, Josef, of Springfield, Mass.; a brother-in-law, Garry Smith, of Hampton; two grandchildren Hunter Blake Williams and Kaitlyn Dare Williams of Richmond, Va.; two nephews. Josef Polack III of Springfield, Mass., and Kelly Smith of Elizabethton; an aunt and uncle Barbara and Warren Vestal of Greensboro, N.C.; and Aunt Mary Blake of Greenwood, S.C.; several cousins and a host of many dear friends.
The family will greet friends at First Presbyterian Church Johnson City on Monday, November 19, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to follow with Rev. Louis Insamde and Rev. Dean Smith officiating. Family and close friends are asked to meet at Monte Vista Memorial Park at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012, for an inurnment ceremony.
