Betty Calhoun Hughes, 80, Johnson City, entered into rest Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Asbury Place.
Mrs. Hughes was a native of Carter County and had lived in Johnson City for the past several years. She was a daughter of the late F. Edwin and Blanche McKinney Calhoun and was also preceded in death by three brothers, Herchel, Reynard and Carroll Calhoun, and a sister, Stella Freeman.
Mrs. Hughes was a Free Will Baptist. She was a retired Home Health Aide.
Survivors include one brother, Horace Calhoun, Hampton; one sister, Christine Martin, Johnson City; two nephews, including her caregiver, Terry L. Martin, Johnson City, and Anthony L. Martin, Elizabethton; special sister-in-law, Bonnie Calhoun, Garner, N.C.; special niece, Glenda Gayle Johnson, Roan Mountain; and several additional nieces and nephews.
A graveside and committal service for Mrs. Hughes will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, at Calhoun-McKinney Cemetery, Roan Mountain, Tenn. Everyone is asked to assemble at the cemetery at 1:20 p.m. Online condolences may be shared through www.tetrickfuneralhome.com.
