Mrs. Ardith I. Pierce, age 88, 143 Webb Hollow Loop, Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Friday, July 5, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Pulaski, VA she was the daughter of the late Erskin and Annie Oliver Guynn.
Mrs. Pierce was a homemaker and the oldest and a very loyal member of Beck Mountain Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert B. Pierce; a sister, Frances Lytton; and a brother, Harry Guynn.
Survivors include four sons, Ronald Pierce and wife Mary, Jacksonville, Fla.; Dennis Pierce and wife Colleen, Sterling Heights, Mich.; David Pierce and wife Cindy and John Pierce and wife Peggy, all of Elizabethton, Tenn.. Eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service for Mrs. Ardith I. Pierce will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home Elizabethton with the Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday prior to the funeral service or at the residence at any time. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in Caldwell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Beck Mountain Baptist Church and the Gentry family. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
