Anna Jane Timbs Bare, 69, of Bluff City died Friday, April 19, 2013, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Emma Brewer Timbs.

Mrs. Bare was owner of Bare Barbeque in Bristol and a member of the Borderview Christian Church in Elizabethton.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Bare, on August 10, 2000, and by two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Michael Spencer and their son Eli; a son, John Michael Bare, his daughter Haley and his son Daniel of Bluff City; six sisters, Sue Shmidt and her husband David, Bristol, Jean Garrett and husband Joe, Abingdon, Va., Dawn Grubbs, Church Hill, Retha Williams and husband George, Hampton, Thelma Taylor and husband Vaughn, and Janice Stanberry and husband Larry all of Elizabethton; three brothers, Houston Timbs and wife Betty, Robert Timbs and wife Peggy all of Elizabethton, and Harold Timbs, of Johnson City; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois Dishner, Betty Thomas, Ruth Humphrey and husband Gordon all of Bluff City, Roxie Williams and husband Johnny of Blountville, Sue Harkleroad, Elizabethton, Larnce Bare and wife Reva of Bluff City, Luther “Buster” Bare and wife Phyllis, Johnson City, Pansy Bare and Wanda Bare of Watauga, and Dottie Colley of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, April 22, in Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, with Mr. Kirk Langston officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery.

Graveside service and interment will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Music will be provided by Ray Don Markland and Scott Reynolds. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

The family would like to express a special “Thank you” to everyone who prayed for and called on Anna during her illness, to the staff of Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol for all their excellent love and care and to the respiratory staff at Johnson City Medical Center for their years of treatment during the many stays at Johnson City Medical Center, as well as to all the physicians and nurses who cared for her during her illness.

Anna has requested that those who prefer in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Borderview Christian Church Youth Ministry, 1338 Bristol Hwy, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643 or Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church, Bluff City.
