Obama bus tour plans stop in Asheville on Monday

By

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The White House has named more stops on President Barack Obama’s three-day bus tour through North Carolina and Virginia.

A statement released Thursday night says the tour will stop Tuesday in Jamestown, N.C., and Emporia and Hampton in Virginia. Obama will spend Tuesday night in Hampton.

The tour begins Monday with stops in Asheville, N.C., and the Millers Creek area in Wilkes County, N.C., with an overnight stop in the Triad.

The purpose of the trip is for Obama to continue pressuring Congress over his jobs proposal. North Carolina and Virginia are traditionally Republican states that Obama won in 2008.
