North holds off Johnson County

KINGSPORT — Johnson County did what it had to do in containing the most prolific player in Northeast Tennessee, but a third-quarter spell was too much for the Longhorns to overcome.
Sullivan North (8-6, 2-1 in Three Rivers) used a 14-4 third quarter spurt and then held off a furious Longhorn rally to defeat Johnson County 60-57 at Richard Carroll Gym Friday night.
The Longhorns (8-11, 1-2) knew coming in that they would have to contain possibly the top player in the region in Chase Arnold, and for the most part the they did that and led at halftime 28-27.
