“I don’t really know what happened,” Carter said. “All I know is I heard a noise, and I looked out the bathroom and that Blazer was going through my garden. From then on, I’ve not seen anything.”

Members of the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson City Police Department, and Elizabethton Police Department were joined in the pursuit of a champagne-colored Chevrolet Trailblazer in the area of Sinking Creek Road and Highway 91.

According to CCSD Capt. Patrick Johnson, who was on the scene during the manhunt, the chase began after a bail bondsman recognized one of the vehicle’s occupants while driving through Elizabethton.
