Mouse may have set fire to Hampton home

Investigators say a mouse may have set a house on fire Saturday morning.

Deputy Isaac Rhea of the Carter County Sheriff’s Department responded to the fire at 107 Countryside Drive and spoke with resident Diane Shell. She told the officer she woke up and found the mobile home filled with smoke. She said she woke her husband, the exited the home and called 911.
