Christopher Sutphin was arrested on a warrant and is facing other charges after attempting to flee from Carter County Sheriff’s Department deputies Friday morning.

According to Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes, Sutphin was appearing in court concerning child support when Lt. LC Tester went to serve him with a warrant for violation of probation. Sutphin then attempted to escape and ran from the courthouse. Mathes said a chase ensued involving Tester, Chief Deputy Ron Street and Deputy Jason Mosier.

The deputies apprehended Sutphin and placed him under arrest on the warrant violations. Other charges are pending.
