Man charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder of CCSD deputy, press conference today at 11 a.m.

A Johnson City man has been charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder of a Carter County deputy, according to a press release from Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes.

The man was arrested at approximately 12:06 a.m. this morning after a joint investigation by Carter County Sheriff’s Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Mathes has scheduled a press conference for 11 a.m. today at the Carter County Courthouse.
