Longhorns embrace second-round opportunity

It would be “fool’s gold” to look at CAK’s 5-6 record and think it isn’t a good football team. The Warriors might be playing better than anyone in the 3-A ranks after knocking off Gatlinburg-Pittman 56-21 in the first round of the playoffs.

Add the fact they destroyed Scott County 47-7 earlier in the year, the same team that Elizabethton struggled last week to put away, and it might spell trouble for Johnson County in Knoxville tonight.

That won’t faze the Longhorns, who, like the Warriors, are 5-6. They too have found redemption after a 23-20 win at Chuckey-Doak in their first-round game.
