Local trio headed for National Junior Olympics

A trio of local track and field athletes are headed to the big time later this month.

Katie May will head to Michigan based on her efforts in the triple jump and 100-meter hurdles.

The National Junior Olympics are July 29-Aug. 3 at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Mich. Representing Elizabethton High School is rising senior Katie May and rising freshman Maci Shell.

From T.A. Dugger Junior High is seventh-grader Porter Bradley.
May made the field in the triple jump and 100-meter hurdles.

Shell is there in the 1,500-meter run, 3,000 and 4×800-meter relay. Bradley qualified for the event in the 3,000 and 1,500.

Bradley and Shell are each members of the Slipstream Timing Track and Field
