Liquor store referendum passes in city

Voters in the city of Elizabethton approved to permit retail package stores to sell alcoholic beverages on Tuesday.

According to the Carter County Election Commission, 2,742 voters approved the referendum. A total of 1,958 voters said ‘no’ to the referendum.
