BRISTOL, Va. — Gate City was 13.6 seconds away from playing in the Borderline Classic Championship game on Saturday afternoon. It was at that point that Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra’s saying “It ain’t over til it’s over” took place.

Courtney Clarke hit a layup at the buzzer, giving the Lady Highlanders a remarkable 49-48 comeback win. But what happened leading up to the game-winning shot was mindboggling.

The Lady Golden Wave hung on for a two-point win, getting 30 points from Morgan Hall — including the game winner with eight seconds remaining. Twenty-four of those came in the second half after Unaka had built a 10-point advantage.
