JOHNSON CITY — A roller-coaster game of big plays and momentum changes came down to one play.
With seven seconds on the clock and a shot at victory from the 3-yard line, there was only one option for Elizabethton.
“It’s just too iffy to pass the ball at the 3-yard line,” said Elizabethton coach Shawn Witten. “There’s not a lot of room to throw it. You can try to smash it up inside or spread it out there.
“You give it to your best player and the chips fall where they may.”
A game en route to a three-score cushion for Science Hill turned a complete 180 for the visitors with a wild finish in the closing minutes of regulation.
