The Little Watauga Conference softball race got interesting on Tuesday.
Happy Valley invaded Hicks Field and routed Unaka 9-1 to avenge its only previous league loss. Each team is now tied at 6-1 in the conference.
“That was a nice comeback for us,” Happy Valley coach Mandy Greer said. “That’s been what we’ve put our whole season on, right there — because we lost early, and we knew we had work to finish. We’ve got Hampton tomorrow and Johnson County Thursday, so that was one of three games we’ve got to finish with.”
