Cloudland 24
Johnson County 19
Cloudland’s quest to find its offense for three quarters proved to be like trying to locate a needle in a haystack.
The Highlanders trailed 5-4 after one and 9-8 at the half.
The Longhorns opened up a 13-8 lead to start the third on baskets by Courtney and Brittany Brooks.
Cloudland closed the quarter on a 5-0 run, getting baskets by Megan Hurt and Oliva Chambers to take its first lead of the game at 15-13.
Five points by Hurt, including a long three and two baskets from Chambers, were enough to help hold off the cold-shooting Longhorns in the fourth. Haley Brown’s bucket and three free throws were Johnson County’s only points scored.
