Lady Highlanders nudge past Chiefs

The phrase “absence makes the heart grow fonder” is now a proven fact in Roan Mountain.
A happy team of Lady Highlanders welcomed all-state center Brooke Rhodes back from a recent leg injury with open arms and her presence has put them on a two game winning streak. On Friday, she filled the stat chart in Cloudland’s 50-48 win over Cherokee inside of Sonny Smith Gymnasium.
The Presbyterian College signee recorded 23 points, 22 rebounds, eight blocked shots and five assists, including one to Mattison McKinney for a layup that broke a 44-44 tie late in the game.
