GREENEVILLE — Elizabethton got a pair of solid performances to claim a road sweep here Monday night, downing South Greene in what always proves to be a tough regional matchup later in the year.
The Lady Cyclones shook off a slow start to claim a 60-45 victory. South Greene took advantage of Elizabethton’s foul count early in the contest. But when the Lady Cyclones put their starters back on the floor in the third, Elizabethton seized control of the game.
The boys’ game was never a contest. The Cyclones led by nearly 20 in the first quarter and stormed their way to an 84-55 win. It was a shooting contest for both teams as the two sides hit a combine 20 3-pointers.
