For three quarters, Happy Valley’s girls had Elizabethton on the ropes.
In the final eight minutes, however, the Lady Cyclones put together the perfect storm.
Using an aggressive defense to find its rhythm offensively, Elizabethton delivered a 19-3 fourth quarter to record a 48-37 come-from-behind conference victory Friday at Treadway Gymnasium.
“Happy Valley came out and were ready to play and did a lot of good things,” said Elizabethton coach Len Dugger. “We came out a little flat early and didn’t shoot it well. I think the way we responded, it says a lot for the kids.”
