With a state semi-finalist leading the way, Elizabethton’s boys had no answers for Greeneville Monday.
The girls, on the other hand, gave their non-conference foe all it wanted until the final doubles pairing falling 5-4 at home.
The Lady Cyclones lost four of six singles matches, but evened the score with two doubles victories to set up the decisive meeting.
“With the doubles we are trying new things, so that may have been part of it,” said Elizabethton coach Amanda Pike. “This was a good team and I think this was great experience for our girls. I’m happy that we played well.”
