Lady Cyclones brace for top-ranked Grainger

A chance to knock off the unbeaten, top-ranked Class AA girls team in the state looms high for Elizabethton’s girls tonight.
“Here’s my belief,” Lady Cyclones coach Len Dugger said Monday. “You don’t always have to be the best team. You just have to outplay better teams for 32 minutes.”
Elizabethton (26-4) will need a strong 32 minutes against Grainger (32-0), which visits Treadway Gymnasium for a Region 1-AA girls championship showdown.
Although it’s been two years and the two teams look quite different in some areas, Elizabethton and Grainger are quite familiar with one another.
