Lady Bulldogs top UC; Hampton boys lose

It was a buffet of non-conference action Saturday in Carter County.
Hampton scored wins in four of the five scheduled games during a busy weekend of rescheduled non-conference action, while Unicoi County would take home the win in the nightcap contest at VanHuss-White Gym.
HHS triumphed over a Lady Blue Devils fourth-quarter rally, 51-49, in the girls’ varsity contest while the Blue Devils picked up the 60-53 win over the Hampton Bulldogs.
In underclassmen action, HHS won handily in the Bulldog freshmen and junior varsity games, while the Lady Bulldogs scored a victory over the scrappy UCHS JV crew.
Hampton will end its regular season tonight with a roadtrip to Afton to square off against the Chuckey-Doak Black Knights.
