BAILEYTON — A furious third quarter saw Hampton’s girls come from behind to remain perfect in the Watauga Valley Conference, riding a 30-point period to a 57-54 road win over North Greene here Friday night.
The Lady Bulldogs found themselves in a hole early, trailing by almost 20 mid way of the second quarter. They picked up the pace over the last couple of minutes of the half, and then took control of the game with six 3-pointers in the third. Missed free throws almost became a factor in the fourth when North Greene trailed by only one with less than a minute to play, but in the end Hampton held on to improve to 16-4 overall and 2-0 in the league.
