Milligan’s women took a page from the movie “Top Gun” after a dismal first half Wednesday evening.

Struggling on the offensive floor and in the paint, the “need for speed” was quite evident.
An increased tempo on the each end of the floor opened up the halfcourt game in the second half and the Lady Buffaloes ran away from Montreat 83-66 in conference play at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.

“It was our intention in the second half to speed the game up and I felt like we did a good job of that,” said Milligan coach Rich Aubrey. “Once we got the game at our tempo, we played better in the half-court on both ends. I’m very, very pleased with the way we played tonight — good solid contribution from a lot of people.”
