KFC big bats bomb Burgie

The big bats that have carried KFC all season in the Elizabethton National Cal Ripken League boomed once again on Friday evening at T.J. Burleson Memorial Field as Team KFC toppled Burgie Drug 13-3 in four innings.

Home runs by catcher Chris Taylor and pitcher John Wesley Hardin enabled KFC to open a 7-2 lead in the last of the second stanza and enabled KFC (14-3) to keep its slender lead over Ole Barn in the race for the regular season championship.

Burgie opened the game with a pair of runs off Hardin who struggled to find the strike zone in the early going.
