Kerleys celebrate 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kerley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Dec. 21, 2012. The celebration dinner was held at Peerless Steakhouse in Johnson City with their children, children’s spouses and grandchildren.
Guitar and mandolin entertainment was provided by Will Kerley, Stacy Greer and Shane Greer. Everyone joined in singing a Christmas carols medley led by Kathy Osking, Annette Greer playing flute, Brenda and Ashley Arnold and Stacy Greer playing mandolin.

The couple were married Dec. 21, 1962, at the First Presbyterian Church in Knoxville. They resided in Johnson County until retiring and moving to Jonesborough where they are members of Heritage Baptist Church, Johnson City.

Mr. Kerley grew up in Roan Mountain. He retired from Farm Credit services as the Mountain City branch manager after 30 years of service. Mrs. Kerley is the former Josephine Miller of Hampton. After teaching music for 37 years in various systems, she retired from the Johnson County School System.

The couple have five children: Kathy Osking and husband Dan, Annette Greer and husband Donald, Brenda Arnold and husband David, Tom Kerley and wife Donna, and Don Kerley and wife Heidi.

They have 10 grandchildren: Ian and Justin Osking; Jake, Shane and Stacy Greer; Ashley and Nathan Arnold; Warren and Will Kerley; and Sam Kerley.
