Jurors deliberate in lawmaker’s trial9:08 am | September 19, 2013
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Jurors have begun deliberating in the trial of state Rep. David Hawk.
The Greeneville Sun reports deliberations began Wednesday afternoon and were set to resume on Thursday.
The trial stems from an altercation between Hawk and his former wife, Crystal Goan.
The newspaper reports Judge Paul Summers agreed on Monday to dismiss an aggravated assault charge filed against Hawk, saying that prosecutors hadn’t proven that Goan suffered serious bodily injuries.
Hawk had also been indicted last year on a reckless endangerment count related to the dispute.
He has maintained his innocence.
