Things were moving at a brisk pace on Thursday evening for Happy Valley’s ground game in its Little Watauga Conference battle with Unaka Middle School on Warrior Hill.
Quarterback Brayden Sams rushed for 185 yards and two scores to lead the Junior Warriors, who rushed for 306 yards as a team with five touchdowns, to a 36-8 victory over the Junior Rangers.
Halfback Logan Smith lugged the pigskin four times for 81 yards — including a 42-yard touchdown scamper — as Happy Valley built a 36 point halftime lead. Smith also ran in a pair of two point conversion runs.
