Jr. Rangers conquer Comets

Unaka’s Jr. Rangers finally conjured up some physical defense to go along with their up-tempo scoring attack. The result was a 51-35 triumph over Central on the Comets’ home court Thursday evening.

For Unaka skipper Tee Blevins, the victory was a welcomed display of what is being taught at practice — as well as a showcase of scoring prowess from the roundball squad’s key weapons,

“Our offense has been good all year,” Blevins said. “Tonight we were able to combine it with defense, which is good. That is something we have been stressing in practice this season. I also have to hand it to our Big 3, Kyler Lewis, Austin Beauprez and Josh Nave all stepped up and had a big game. That was the first time they have played that well together all season. They really helped us to play well as a whole.”
