Jr. Longhorns riding high

Johnson County’s Jr. Longhorns have been playing good baseball of late, winning seven of their last eight games.
Timely hitting, improved defense and outstanding pitching have provided needed momentum going into the last week of the regular season.

Johnson County produced a 14-hit game to mercy rule the Highlanders in five innings.
Nick Whitener and Shane Greer led the Longhorns offensively, contributing three hits each, while Devin Lewis collected two.
Whitener pitched three innings to secure the victory on the mound. He surrendered no hits while striking out six Highlanders.
