Jr. Landers rebuilding with youth

Scott Potter might want to invest in a good hard hat to wear for Cloudland’s 2013 Junior High football season. He’s facing a major rebuilding job after five seasons in which the Junior High Landers finished at least first or second.

It’s Potter’s first season, taking the helm from Jon Julian, who will remain on the staff as the defensive coordinator. The team is loaded with a talented pool of sixth and seventh graders but the numbers are slim among the eighth grade class.

“We’ve got one kid who played significant minutes last year so we’re basically starting with a new team,” said Potter. “Most of our kids are sixth and seventh graders. We got some eighth graders but not near as many as in the other classes. But our number total is good.”
