Update: JCSD calls high school gun scare ‘false alarm’

Members of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department say that reports about a student bringing a gun to Johnson County High School were a “false alarm.”

Sheriff Mike Reece said his officers intercepted the student before he reached the school. After searching the student and his vehicle, Reece said that no gun was found.


Johnson County police officers were on the scene at Johnson County High School after a student was reported as having brought a gun on the school campus. Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece said no gun has been found at the school. Check back with the Star for more details as information becomes available.
