The halls of Happy Valley High School were somber Monday as students and faculty mourned one of their own who was lost to them in a Sunday afternoon car crash.
Students held an impromptu prayer group in the school’s gym in memory of friend and classmate, 16-year-old Daniel G. Mullins, and the high school brought in counselors to help others deal with grief.
“It’s a tragedy for the school and the community,” Happy Valley High School Principal Terry Hubbard said. “Our prayers are with his family.”
To help students cope with their classmate’s death, Hubbard said grief counselors from Frontier Health and other district schools were available all day for both group and private sessions.
