HV Middle boys, Cloudland girls triumphant

The season finales for two Little Watuaga Conference ballclubs did not fail to disappoint up on Roan Mountain during Monday night’s slate of middle school basketball action across the region.
Happy Valley was able to hold off late second-half rally against the Cloudland Jr. Highlanders to pull away with a 49-44 victory, while in girls’ action the Lady Jr. ‘Landers pulled off a key victory over the scrappy Warriors, 41-37.
District tournament is around the bend for both squads, with times to be announced today. The tournaments will be held at Chuckey Doak on Saturday.
