Hopkins, EGC staff come through for ETA

The heavy rains and the forecasted bad weather all week long definitely had the staff of Elizabethton Golf Course in a big time mode of concern this week.
You never would have known it when you looked at the course and the greens on Friday afternoon in the opening round of the Carter County Bank East Tennessee Amateur.
The most prestigious amateur golf tournament from Knoxville to Roanoke lived up to its billing as it survived the monsoon of this week, and by the same token caught a break from mother nature to begin the tournament on Friday.
