Elizabethton’s Danielle Loving hurls a ball infield during a game against Sullivan North in the District 1-AA tournament.

Elizabethton made sure Cinderella’s glass slipper didn’t fit Sullivan North for the second consecutive night in the District 1-AA softball tournament.

And a big reason was the play of its standout junior catcher, Caley “The Crusher” Hodge. With one swing of the bat, she broke open a close game and propelled ‘Betsy to its 12-2 win.

Elizabethton (21-10) will now face a Unicoi County team that defeated Happy Valley 6-0 in the other winners’ bracket semifinal game.
