Each year the town of Independence, Virginia conducts a wild pony sale in late summer as one of its main attractions. After that fall football begins for Grayson County High School located there.
Today, they’ll make the long trip to Mountain City to face Johnson County in the Longhorns’ home opener. And JCHS fans are hoping their thoroughbreds can run “hog wild” past the visiting Blue Devils.
Coach Mike Atwood is expecting his team to bounce back after being outmanned against Tennessee High. And the Longhorns will have to do it against a team that is 1-0 with a quarterback that’s highly being sought after by several schools.
