Fourth-ranked Cyclones invade Johnson County

By

Regardless of where Johnson County’s football team stands, when Elizabethton shows up on its schedule one can expect a hard-fought effort from the Longhorns.

With senior night on the agenda tonight at McEwen Stadium, two teams coming off of momentum-gaining victories collide as the state’s fourth-ranked Cyclones roll into Mountain City.

“It’s always tough playing Johnson County,” said Elizabethton coach Shawn Witten. “They’re a big team. They’ve got a lot of kids playing with a lot of experience. They’ve had some shortcomings this year, but this is definitely a big game for them. The Atwoods always do a great job preparing their football team and getting them ready to play.

“It’s another step for us and another chance to get better and work on different phases of our game. It’s definitely going to have to be a total team effort for us.”
