According to CCSD reports, Samantha Danielle Estep, 18, 117 Nannie Smith Road, Elizabthton; Amber Nicole Morton, 18, 1205 Rittertown Road, Hampton; and Alexis Brooke Townsend, 19, 1294 Milligan Highway, No. 9, Johnson City, were all arrested at approximately 10:30 p.m. Friday after an undercover officer said he purchased suboxone strips — an orally administered painkiller — from them in the Food City parking lot on Broad Street.

A fourth unidentified juvenile female was also present during the deal, according to police reports.

CCSD Lt. Mike Little reported that the undercover officer purchased the drugs using money with recorded serial numbers, which was later recovered from one of the women, and the entire transaction was recorded.

The three adults were each charged with the sale of a Schedule III controlled narcotic and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Their first appearances in Carter County General Sessions Court was scheduled for March 16.
