BRISTOL — He signed autographs and cheered with his fans, fulfilled his post-race media duties, then went back to his fans and celebrated some more.
“I ain’t dead yet!”
The NHRA’s winningest driver struck again at Bristol Dragway. On Father’s Day, no less.
Ending a 31-race winless streak that had people asking if the 64-year-old had remained in the sport too long, John Force answered his critics and rose again.
After opening the day with a tough victory over daughter Courtney, Force delivered round-by-round before knocking off longtime rival Cruz Pedregon in a runaway final for the Funny car title to cap the Ford Thunder Valley Nationals.
