For 2nd time, wife charged in husband’s assault

A Carter County woman out of jail on bond on a domestic violence charge allegedly assaulted her husband with a hammer and threatened to shoot him over the weekend, resulting in new charges.

Carter County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Nick Andes said he was called to 192 Dalewood Road, Johnson City, Sunday morning after Ernest Yourgulez told 911 dispatchers his wife had struck him in the head with a hammer. As officers drove to the residence, Yourgulez told dispatchers his wife had a shotgun and was threatening to shoot him. The man also told dispatchers his wife was out on bond for domestic assault against him from earlier this month.
